About

Hey—I really appreciate you taking an interest in what I do. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I design and make jewelry from scratch.

I learned the craft from my father, Emerson Hogan, an artist and professor who taught fine art and jewelry making at Howard University and the University of Maryland. Growing up around art studios and tools shaped the way I see design, craftsmanship, and the meaning objects can carry.

Early in my career I designed jewelry for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art, an experience that deepened my respect for the connection between culture, artistry, and craft.

When I moved to New York City in 1999, I became fascinated with diamonds and fine jewelry. The Diamond District became my classroom, where I immersed myself in the technical side of the trade—stones, metals, design, and manufacturing.

Today my work blends classical art training with decades of hands-on experience at the bench. Every piece I create reflects that approach: bold, refined, and made with intention.

These days I’m also sharing what I’ve learned by teaching jewelry-making classes, passing along the techniques and knowledge that were once passed down to me.

Thanks again for stopping by.
